Information Systems – Services
The students of the programme, upon their being admitted, become automatically the holders of an account that enables them to have access to various Information Systems, which support the programme’s studies. These systems are the following: Pithia, e-mail, student identity card acquisition system, VPN service and Moodle.
The user’s name and password are given to the students in writing, upon their registration and they are used for their access to all of the above systems.
Our information systems are supported by the Network Operation Center in which students can turn to whenever they have a problem accessing the systems.
The Pithia student is used by the students whenever they want information about their grades as well as when they want to register online for every new semester.
Access is possible with the user’s name and password and students are notified of them during registration. (for first year students (freshmen), course online registration is done automatically upon their enrolment and it can not be changed)
All students have an e-mail account. Access is possible with the use of the user’s name and password, which are the same with those of the Pithia system.
Student Card Acquisition System
Undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students of all Greek Universities and Technological Institutes can make their application online for their new academic identity card. Access is possible via the user’s name and password, which are the same with those of the Pithia system.
The student identity card entitles students to a discount for certain means of transport.
When students search for bibliography in network databases and this search is done via home-based or other networks outside the ATEI, then the VPN service must be used. For the installation of this application on your PC, you must download the installation application and run it as its administrator (right click – “Execution as its Administrator”). After the initial installation and every time u need to look for bibliography in network databases, u must use the VPN service, always as the administrator (right click – “Execution as its Administrator”). Whenever your user’s name and password are needed, you use the same ones with those of the Pithia system. When you connect through VPN, your PC appears to be part of the network of the ATEI of Thessaloniki and this allows access to all the bibliographical databases of the system.
Moodle is a software system for running e-classes through the network, which offers complete services in asynchronous e-learning.
